Fly Me to the Moon - My Mum's Craft Shop DT Card

Tuesday 6 August 2013
Good morning everyone, hope the sun is shining for you today, it was a horrid wet day here in the North East yesterday but for now at least the sun is shining again.

It's Tuesday again which means it's time for my weekly dose of inspiration for My Mum's Craft Shop.  It's a free theme this week and this gave me chance to use my lovely new Away We Go stamp from The Cat's Pajamas.  I love the bunny on these stamps :-)

The papers are from the First Edition Blank Canvas paper pad, this is one of my favourites as I love the soft colours and patterns.

I didn't have a clue where the design of this card was going to be going when I started it so I just went with the flow and had a bit of a play.

I die cut a variety of circles using the Die-namics Circle Stax Set Two set and as always did a bit of faux stitching around the edges of each circle.  I love to do this as I just think it adds a bit of depth and definition.

I've coloured my stamp with Copics and paper pieced the balloon with more papers from the pad.  As soon as I saw this balloon it had 'paper piecing' written all over it.  It was a bit fiddly but I love how it's turned out.

I've finished off with a sentiment from the set, a couple of die cut stars and some Card Candi

That's all from me today, I'm off from the day job this week so I'm off out with Megs today.  Hope you all have a fab day

My Mum's Craft Shop Challenge 8 - Summer Sun

Thursday 1 August 2013
Goooood morning, wow is it really August already!  This year is just flying by isn't it :-)

Do you fancy winning yourself a voucher to spend in My Mum's Craft Shop?  Of course you do... well it's time for a new challenge over on the Blog and this month our theme is

'Summer Sun'

This can be interpreted any way you like with summery images, scenes colours, whatever takes your fancy really.

For my card I've gone with summery colours, yellow, orange and hot pink.

It's a fairly simple card for me which was nice for a change.

I've started off embossing a square of white card using the Crafts Too Summer Days embossing folder and I've accented it with some glitter although you can't really tell on the picture.

I've then layered up some strips of paper from the Echo Park Dots and Stripes Candy Shoppe paper pad and made my scalloped edges using the Die-namics Jumbo Scallop Die

The yummy felt flower is made using the Die-Namics Loopy Bloom die and I've sewn a chunky orange button into the centre.  The felt leaves have just been handcut...can you tell !

Last but not least I've used some more of the paper to die cut a label from the Die-Namics Layered Label die and mounted my flower onto it with PVA.

I'm hoping the sun will be coming out today the clouds look a bit ominous out there today !

To be in with a chance of winning, pop over to the blog and link your creations and you can also check out the gorgeous cards from the rest of the DT girls.

You have until 31 August to enter - good luck !!

A Baby Boy - My Mum's Craft Shop DT card

Tuesday 30 July 2013
Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday...hope the weather is a bit better than it was yesterday.

It's time to show you my DT card for My Mum's Craft Shop this week where our theme is 'Animals'.

I have to be honest and say I was dreading this a little as I don't tend to use a lot of animals on my cards but I had one of those lightbulb moments and suddenly knew what I wanted to do.

I decided to make a baby card using this fabulous Woodware Noah's Ark clear single stamp which is a great size for a 6 x 6 card.

I've stamped my image with Memento Ink and coloured it with Copics as always, it was really great to colour and do you like my green fish....I've never actually seen a real green fish but I needed some green to match in with the papers and I didn't think a green lion or bear would work!

The papers are all from the Echo Park Bundle of Joy Boy 6 x 6 paper pad, all matted onto brown cardstock to give a good contrast and match the colouring in the image.

As the image takes up quite a lot of the card I've kept the embellishments to a minimum, sticking to just a couple of lengths of twine and a chunky green button to finish off.

That's all from me today, thanks for stopping by and be sure to stop by the My Mum's Craft Shop blog for the rest of the week to check out what the rest of the team have been up to .

Celebrate ! - My Mum's Craft Shop DT Card

Tuesday 23 July 2013
Hi there everyone, happy Tuesday.  It's Megan's last day at school today so I'm looking forward to spending some time with her over the holidays (I just hope it isn't too hot....warm will be nice though lol).

It's time for my weekly slot over at My Mum's Craft Shop and it's a free theme this week...it's always lovely to have free rein over which goodies to use and I've decided to keep it fairly simple this week and let this gorgeous stamp do the talking.

I've used one of the Stamping Bella Uptown Girls stamps called Victoria & Juliette's Night Out which I have coloured with Copics and blinged up with plenty of glamour dust.

The papers are from the Echo Park Dots & Stripes Bundle of Joy Girl 6 x 6 paper pad and I've matted all my panels onto silver cardstock.

I've made a scalloped border panel using the Die-namics Jumbo Scallop die and I've paper pricked around the edges to make the little holes.  I've then added a length of pink grosgrain saddlestitch ribbon topped off with a button from The Hobby House's Fancy Button - Pearl Mix for a bit of extra bling.

Finishing touches are a couple of pearls to each corner and there you have it, the perfect girly birthday card.

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day

Happy Days - My Mum's Craft Shop DT card

Tuesday 16 July 2013
Goooood morning everyone on this beautiful sunny day (I'm hoping it's a beautiful day, I scheduled this post yesterday !)

It's time to show you my card for My Mum's Craft Shop this week and quite appropriately our theme for this week is 'Summer'.

I've gone way out of my comfort zone this week and created a scene card but the idea came into my head while lying in bed so I knew I had to give it a go.  It was a bit fiddly and involved a bit of fussy cutting but I think it was worth it.

I've started by die cutting a large circle to create my scene on and have used patterned papers from the Echo Park A Perfect Summer 6 x 6 paper pad to make the sand, sea and sky.  One of the sheets is a large sun-ray design so I've cut out a portion of that to make my sunshine.

The bucket and sandcastle I've just created myself out of some of the patterned paper and the beach ball has been made by die cutting a circle of white cardstock and drawing and colouring the beach ball onto it.

I've die cut the clouds from the Memory Box Puffy Clouds die and coloured around the edges with a C-2 copic pen to give a bit of dimension.  The balloons are just cut from one of the patterned papers and I've drawn some mini seagulls with a black fine liner.

Finally my image is Ice Cream Lucy by CC Designs (and she is on special offer at the moment so grab her while you can) and I've coloured her with Copics as always.

And now I wish I could say I'm off to enjoy the sunshine but I'm actually sat behind my desk at work gazing longingly out of the window wishing it was 1.30 !

Enjoy your day everyone

With Love from Tilly Daydream - My Mum's Craft Shop DT Card

Tuesday 9 July 2013
Hey everyone, Tuesday already and it looks like it's going to be another hot one.  I've got to be honest (and I know I'm in a minority) but I hate this hot weather.  Don't get me wrong I love the sunshine and I like it to be warm but I can't stand it when it's hot and sticky and uncomfortable, especially when you are trying to get to sleep.

Anyway enough waffle about the weather, it's time for this week's DT card for My Mum's Craft Shop and this week we are free to use a theme of our choice.

Since the absolutely yummy A4 Ultimate Die Cut and Paper Pack featuring the gorgeous new Tilly Daydream landed through my letterbox this weekend I thought it would be rude not to use it.  It is literally filled with gorgeousness....decoupage, papers, tags, toppers, sentiments and more and you could use it for so many different projects.

This is one of the toppers in the pack and it caught my eye because I thought it would be great for a crafty friend.

The hexagons have actually been cut out from one of the sheets of patterned paper and I've mounted each one onto navy cardstock to give them a bit more definition.  I am loving hexagons at the moment so be prepared to see them quite a bit in my forthcoming projects !

The banner has been cut using the Die namics Fishtail Flags die and faux stitched with white gel pen.

And there you have it......I'm sure you will be seeing quite a bit more of this little character in the near future.

Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine !

Especially for You

Tuesday 2 July 2013
Hi again everyone

I'm back again today with another creation for My Mum's Craft Shop and our theme for this week is pre-coloured toppers and images.  These are great if you are not confident with your colouring skills or if you just want to make a quick card and don't have time to colour an image.

As you know I'm a huge fan of Sylvia Zet's images so I decided to use one of the images from the Spring Bringer topper set by The Hobby House.

I was led by the soft muted colours in the image and used the Collectable Memorable 6 x 6 pad by My Minds Eye as the gorgeous pinks and greens matched really well.  To keep up with the muted theme I've matted all my panels onto Kraft cardstock.

I've used the Fishtail Flags dienamics to add some banners in the background and I've added some lace ribbon and buttons from my stash to embellish.

Keep popping back to the My Mums Craft Shop blog this week to check out the creations from the rest of the DT girlies.

I'm back with a New Challenge for My Mum's Craft Shop

Monday 1 July 2013
Helllloooooo everyone, I'm back after a bit of a crafty break and raring to go!

I am very lucky to be back on the My Mum's Craft Shop  DT and as it's 1st July (eeek) we are kicking of the month with a new challenge.  This month our theme is.....

Just for Girls

Always a good one for me as I love my girly cards.  Having said that I decided to stay away from pink this time for a change and go for a gorgeous turquoise and purple theme.

I adore the First Edition paper pads and this one is a fairly recent one called New Bloom.  To make it all pop I've matted all my panels onto turquoise cardstock....as usual lots of layers from me lol

The stamp is the gorgeous Cupcake Cutie from My Favourite Things and I've coloured her with Copics, adding a few spots around the background to give a bit of dimension.

I've finished off with some purple ribbon, flowers and buttons.

We always love seeing your creations so if you want to be in with a chance of winning a MMCS voucher pop by the blog and leave a link to your design.

Well that's all from me today, pop back tomorrow when I will have another DT card to show you.

My Mums Craft Shop DT Card - Happy Together

Thursday 9 May 2013
Hi everyone, I'm a day late with my card for My Mum's Craft Shop this week, it's been absolutely manic this past week with one thing and another but here I am raring to go!

This week our theme is 'Dies' and I decided to try something a little different and created a type of scene for my card.  I'm not normally comfortable with this kind of card but I'm really pleased with how it has turned out.

I started by creating the background using two panels of paper from the My Minds Eye Collectable Memorable pad and matting them onto brown cardstock.

I've then die cut a large circle from white card and created a sky effect background using a B000 Pale Porcelain Blue copic pen.  The hill has been hand cut using one of the green patterned papers from the pad and then I have pricked around the edge and added some faux stitching with a brown fineliner.

The cute little brother and sister stamp is called Siblings by CC Designs and I've coloured it with copics and cut it out.  I thought they needed to be sat on something rather than sitting in thin air so I've die cut a bench using the Joy Crafts Floral Flourishes - Bench die and added some accents using white gel pen.  I've then mounted my siblings onto the bench with foam pads.

To finish off my little scene I've die cut some clouds using the Memory Box Puffy Clouds die and I've edged around them with a grey copic pen before mounting them on foam pads to give a floaty effect.

I'm really pleased with this and will definitely be making more cards along these lines in the future.

That's all from me today, have a great day.

Guest Design Team Card for Wee Stamps - Summer Fairy

Monday 6 May 2013
Hi there everyone, hope you have all had a wonderful sunny bank holiday.  We've been quite busy on the allotment planting and digging and sitting drinking diet coke lol but I have had chance to make a Design Team card for my guest spot over at Wee Stamps.

I think I've mentioned before a few times that I LOVE Sylvia Zet's images, they are so beautifully detailed and absolutely amazing to colour and this one was no exception.

I have used the beautiful Summer Fairy digital stamp which I have printed out onto Neenah Cardstock and coloured with Copics.  I have to admit to being a bit of a novice when it comes to colouring black hair so I was a bit nervous when I started and had a couple of copies printed off in case of mistakes.

I just knew her hair had to be black though because I wanted to use the Fancy Pants Park Bench 6 x 6 paper pad which has a gorgeous colour pallette of turquoise, yellow, grey and black and I wanted black to be my accent colour.

I've also used the paper pad to create my flowers, for which I have used Dienamics Pretty Posies and Button Border.  I've done a bit of doodling on them with some white and black gel pen too.  Not sure where the flourish die is from it's been in my stash forever.

Here is a close up of the coloured image which shows all the little dotty bits in the background I'm in love with doing at the moment just by dotting my copic pens around randomly.

Anyway that's all from me today, I'm off to Tai Chi class tonight to chill myself out after a very busy week.

Enjoy the rest of the sunshine.

Dilly Beans Friday Challenge - 'For Mom'

Friday 3 May 2013
Hey there everyone another week has flown by and it's time for our new challenge over at Dilly Beans and this week our theme is 'For Mom'.

As I'm in the UK we've obviously had our Mother's Day so I decided just to make a card with 'Mum' on it which would be good for a birthday too......if your mum likes hedgehogs that is lol !

I've used the super cute Crinkles Heart Flowers Framed and coloured him with Copics.  You will find a selection of Crinkles the Hedgehog digi stamps in the shop and I will definitely be using him more often.

I've had this Kaisercraft paper pad in my stash for donkeys years as my nanna likes to say and I love the colours of it.  Sorry I can't remember the name of it offhand and it is downstairs at the moment and while I'm typing away I don't want to interrupt my flow and go and look....lazy or what :-)

Everything is matted onto olive green cardstock and I've added some grosgrain ribbon tags to the side attached with buttons and a hot pink doily in the background.

I die cut three lots of letters, the pink didn't show up and neither did the green so I plumped for dark brown which I've faux stitched with white gel pen.

I don't know about you but I'm looking forward to a nice long weekend when hopefully I will be able to get some Father's Day cards made !

Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend and that the sun shines for you.

A Treat for You - My Mums Craft Shop DT Card and New Challenge

Wednesday 1 May 2013
Hi there everyone and happy Wednesday, I hope the sun is shining with you....is Spring finally on it's way?

Here is my DT card for this week for My Mum's Craft Shop and it also doubles up as my card for our new May challenge where the theme for this month is :-

Spots or Stripes

As you know I love spots so this is a dream of a challenge for me !  This is the first time I've used this stamp since I got her, I've just been waiting for the right card and this is it.  She is called Cupcake Cutie by My Favourite Things and I've combined two of the images from the set to create the main focal point for my card.

I've coloured her with copics and added some random dots around the outside to create a background.  I've then added some glitter to the cupcakes although it doesn't really show on the picture.  I've also done a bit of paper piecing on the table cloth.

The papers are all from the Dots & Stripes Bundle of Joy Girl 6 x 6 paper pad by Echo Park and I love the ice creamy colours which I've matted onto Kraft cardstock for a subtle effect.

I've then die cut random size circles and arranged them around my image and finished off with some buttons here and there.

Pop over to the blog to check out the awesome inspiration from the rest of the DT girls and don't forget to leave us a link to your project, we always love to see what you have created.

Have a great day

Dilly Beans Friday Challenge - Think Pink!

Friday 26 April 2013
Hi there everyone, Friday again and time for a new challenge over at Dilly Beans and this week we want you to Think Pink!

As you know I rarely make a card without pink so I loved this challenge and I've made a card which uses two of my favourite things....pink and spots :-)

I've used the gorgeous Penny Framed digi stamp which is available in the store and coloured her with Copics.  Do you like the mad pink hair ?

The papers are from Echo Park and I've kept it fairly simple with just a button and some ribbon as embellishment.

If you would like to join us, pop over to the blog and show us your creations and have a peek at what the rest of the DT girls have been up to.

Have a fantastic weekend.

My Mums Craft Shop - Flower Theme Week

Wednesday 24 April 2013
Hey there everyone, it's Wednesday which means it's time for my weekly post for My Mum's Craft Shop where our theme for this week is 'Flowers'.

I've used the brand new Sweet Roses stamps by My Favourite Things and their matching Roses and Leaves Die-namics.

I've die cut the flowers first from white card before stamping the solid flower images onto them.  I have then inked up the outline flower stamps with brown ink and stamped over the top for some definition.  It did take a few attempts to get the stamps lined up with the die cuts but I got there in the end !

The papers are from the Blank Canvas paper pad and the central panels are made using the Layered Label die-namics.

I've used one of the sentiments from the stamp set and finished off with some grosgrain ribbon and some Chocolate Heaven pearls.

That's all from me for today, hope you all have a great day.

Dilly Beans Friday Challenge - Flowers

Saturday 20 April 2013
Hi there everyone, I'm a day late posting my challenge for Dilly Beans this week as I've had some issues with my computer.

Thanks to my IT manager (otherwise known as my dad!) I'm now up and running again and happy!

Our theme for this week is Flowers and I decided to keep it simple with a mainly monochrome card with some splashes of colour.

I've used one of the newer images called Paige who I think will definitely become one of my new favourites.

I have coloured her with copics....do you like the blue eyeshadow !

The papers and sentiment are from Pink Petticoat and I've added a bit of lace in the background for a bit of prettiness.

The flowers are made using the Die-namics Layered Rose die and I've finished off with a couple of hot pink buttons.

If you would like to join us this week pop over to the blog and link your card, we always love to see your creations and while you are there you can check out the rest of the Design Team's inspiration for you for this week.

Have a great weekend everyone.

My Mums Craft Shop - You Make Life Wonderful

Wednesday 17 April 2013
Hey there everyone, it's Wednesday already and time for my weekly post for My Mums Craft Shop

It's a free theme this week so I decided to use one of the newest stamps in the shop, the gorgeously cute Little Gardener from Pure Innocence.  It's a great set which comes with five sentiments.

I've coloured her with Copics before cutting her out and mounting her onto foam pads.

The papers are from my 6 x 6 Collectable Memorable pad from My Minds Eye and I love the vintage feel they have to them.  I've mounted all my panels onto Kraft cardstock and used some thick satin ribbon and a length of pink crochet lace to embellish.

The gorgeous flowers are the new Cherry Blossoms from The Hobby House and these are the Summertime collection and match perfectly with these papers.

I've used one of the sentiments from the stamp set, stamped in brown ink and again mounted onto Kraft.

That's all from me folks, I will be back on Friday with my Dilly Beans challenge post.

Have a great Wednesday everyone.

Dilly Beans Friday Challenge - Pastels

Friday 12 April 2013
Me again, wow two posts in one day that's unheard of !  Scroll down to see my DT card for Crafty Boots :-)

As it's Friday we have a new challenge kicking off over at Dilly Beans and this week our theme is 'Pastel Colours'.

I've used an image from the Amalia collection called Amalia's party, which I've coloured with Copics....pastel colours of course lol !

The papers are from the Papermania Spots and Strips Pastels 8 x 8 paper pad and I've mounted everything onto turquoise cardstock.

I've finished off with some ribbon and a lovely big yellow button !

We always love to see your creations so pop over to the blog where you can also see what the rest of the DT girls have made for your inspiration.

Crafty Boots DT Card - Fairy Wishes

Hey there everyone, it's nearly the weekend yay !

I'm just popping in with this month's card for Crafty Boots and I've gone for one of the gorgeous Saturated Canary stamps which Steph stocks in the shop called Fairy Wishes - isn't she beautiful.

I absolutely adore colouring these images and love the fine detailing in them.  I've coloured her with Copics as always and my first instinct was to go for pink to do her dress but I changed my mind and chose red (and pink lol !) as I wanted it to be a bit more vibrant.  I edged her wings in a very light green to tie in with the papers.

I've created a background around my image by just dotting my pens around here and there and then also dotting on a glitter pen for a bit of bling.

The papers are from an old My Minds Eye pad from my stash called Life of the Party from the Lime Twist range.  I'd forgotten how lovely these papers are and I just love the bright colours.  Everything is matted onto brown card to make it pop and to also tie in with the brown hair on my image.

I've finished off with some brown grosgrain ribbon and a shiny red button :-)

That's all from me for now, I'm off to have my lunch and hopefully do some more crafting before Megan comes home from Grandmas.

Have a great weekend everyone.

My Mum's Craft Shop - Happy Birthday Dad

Wednesday 10 April 2013
Good morning everyone, hope you are all well and a bit warmer than I feel at the moment.....when is Spring going to arrive !

It's a Dots and Stripes theme this week over at My Mums Craft Shop which I was very pleased about as I LOVE dots :-)

I've gone for another masculine card this week, don't know what's up with me at the moment as I normally don't enjoy making male cards.

I've used the gorgeous Teddies Printed Panels by Wild Rose Studio for my card and as well as getting 8 pre-coloured panels in this pack, you also get 4 black and white images to colour yourself.  I chose one of the black and white images and coloured it with Copics.  I made the sky background by dotting B0000 around in a kind of cloud effect (that's my technical description anyway!).

The papers are from the brand new Dots and Stripes Bundle of Joy Boy 6 x 6 paper pad by Echo Park and I've distressed the edges of all my panels before matting them all onto brown cardstock.

As always I've added some faux stitching and embellished with some navy bakers twine and a big blue button.  The sentiment is from the Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler set, I just love the fun typefaces in this set.

Well that's all from me for today, have a fab day everyone.

Happy Spring! Dilly Beans Stamps Friday Challenge

Friday 5 April 2013
Hey there everyone, well the Easter holiday seems like a distant memory now unfortunately but we do seem to be seeing some sunshine which always makes everything feel better.

This week our challenge theme over at Dilly Beans is appropriately 'Spring' so we would love to see all your Spring themed creations :-)

Spring always makes me think of flowers so I chose to use the gorgeous Grandpa's Flowers Framed and make them the main focal point for my card.

I've gone for a full on A5 size card which is unusual for me as I love my 6 x 6 square but I wanted to make the flowers big enough for me to get some good shading on them with my Copics.  I've also tried my stippled effect in the background using B0000 to make it look a bit like sky.

The spotty paper is from a Tilda paper pad I have in my stash and I've finished off with some grosgrain ribbon, button and twine.

Pop over to the blog to see what the rest of the DT girls have created for you this week.

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

My Mums Craft Shop - Happy Days!

Wednesday 3 April 2013
Hi there everyone, can't believe it's Wednesday already, where did Easter go !

We had a lovely weekend, it was busy but very enjoyable.  Luckily I have the rest of the week off to spend with Megan so I'm not sure there will be much crafting time for me.

It's time for my weekly post for My Mums Craft Shop and this week I've gone out of my comfort zone and done a boy's card.

I just love this Take Off stamp from The Cat's Pajamas and I've coloured him in with Copics.  I've even attempted to make a bit of a sky background using B000, just dotting it around and making cloud shapes.  It looks quite subtle but effective.

I've used the Boy Crazy 6 x 6 pad by My Minds Eye and I've distressed and faux stitched around the edges of all my panels before matting everything onto red cardstock.

To embellish I've used the Puffy Clouds die from Memory Box which I've embossed with polka dots for a bit of extra dimension.  The red bracket at the side is from the Crafts Too Labels 8 die set and I've added a bit of stitching around the edge with white gel pen.

Well I think that's all from me today, I'm currently waiting impatiently for the UPS man to bring me a parcel of crafty goodies so I'm off to guard the front door ready to pounce when he arrives lol!

Have a great day

My Mums Craft Shop Challenge - Easter or Easter Colours

Monday 1 April 2013
Good morning everyone, I hope you have all had a lovely Easter.  We've had quite a busy one so not much crafting time for me but it's been so lovely to have some family time together.

We have a new challenge starting today over at My Mums Craft Shop and our theme for this month is

Easter or Easter Colours

For my card I have used the brand new Echo Park Bundle of Joy 6 x 6 paper pads.  I couldn't wait to get my hands on these pads and although they are aimed at baby cards some of the patterns are quite generic so can be used for other cards too as you can see here.  I've matted everything onto creamy yellow cardstock and as always I've added some faux stitching around my panels with pink pen.

My image is Bunny Lucy digi from CC Designs and I've coloured her with Copics to match my papers....isn't she cute !

To finish off I've added some ribbon loops and some wooden flower embellishments.

So if you would like to be in with a chance to win a £20 gift voucher then do pop over and show us your creations, we always love to see them.  You can also check out the gorgeous work from the rest of the MMCS Design Team.

Dilly Beans Friday Challenge - Easter

Friday 29 March 2013
Hi there everyone and Happy Easter!  Hope you have all had a good start to the Easter break, fingers crossed the weather stays nice, we have actually seen the sunshine here today.

Our theme over at Dilly Beans this week is 'Easter' so we want to see all your gorgeous Easter creations.  Pop over to the blog to see what the Design Team have got to offer this month :-)

For my card I have used the adorable Amalia Easter Bunny, which I have coloured with Copics....isn't she gorgeous!

The papers are from the new Doodlebug Flower Box collection and so is the flower embellishment.  Just love the colours in this collection, really bright and summery.

I've embossed the white background panel with the Couture Creations Bouquet embossing folder, which I love because it is a great 5 x 7 size.

The sentiment is from Pink Petticoat and that's about that really lol!

If you pop over to the Dilly Beans Shop there is a lovely new Maisie the Mermaid digi stamp available.

Hope you all have a fabulous Easter

You Are Amazing - My Mums Craft Shop DT Card

Wednesday 27 March 2013
Hi there everyone, we are halfway through this nice short week already yay, I just wish it would warm up a little !

It's time for this week's creation for My Mums Craft Shop and this week we have a theme of 'Echo Park'.  I love their papers so I was really looking forward to this one.

I've chosen the Everyday Eclectic 6 x 6 pad because I just love the colours and they work so well together.

I've rounded off all the corners of my panels, faux stitched around the edges and matted everything onto some raspberry cardstock.

The stamp is Read All About It by Pure Innocence and I fell in love with her as soon as I saw her.  It's a great value set too as it comes with five different sentiments.

I've paper pieced her chair and footstool and coloured the rest with Copics.

I also haven't over-embellished my card this week and I wanted the image to stand out on it's own.  I've kept it to some pink spotty satin ribbon and a gorgeous resin flower from my stash.

Hope you all have a wonderful day, by the time you read this I will be hard at work at my desk....not !

Glitter!! Dilly Beans Challenge

Friday 22 March 2013
Yay it's Friday and that can only mean one thing....yes it's the weekend!  But also it's time for a new challenge over at Dilly Beans and this week our theme is 'Glitter'

This challenge suited me right down to the ground, I'm thinking fairies, pink, glitter - right in my comfort zone lol !  I knew exactly which stamp I wanted to use for this as I knew she would be perfect...meet Amalia Princess and she is available here

As always I've coloured her with Copics and blinged her wand and dress up with some Glamour Dust.

I've used my brand new Bo Bunny Isabella paper pad which is all beautiful pinks and greys and I've matted everything onto some blingy silver glitter cardstock....you can never have too much glitter right !

I've finished off with some buttons and some grey satin ribbon and the sentiment is from Pink Petticoat.

This card gets the thumbs up from Megan so that's approval enough for me lol !

Just for You - My Mums Craft Shop

Wednesday 20 March 2013
Hey there everyone it's time for this week's creation for My Mum's Craft Shop.  I had a lovely surprise this week when Kitty asked me to stay on as a permanent Design Team member after my Guest Designer spot in March....woohoo !!!!

For my card this week I have used the gorgeous Sugarplums Sassy Emma who you may have seen on a few of my cards before - I love her :-)  I've coloured her with Copics as always and mounted her onto my card using foam pads to make her stand out a bit more.

This was quite a big card for me as I usually stick to my 6 x 6 square cards but I fancied a change so I used an A5 landscape card blank, which gave me a lot of space to fill !!

The papers are from one of the new My Minds Eye 2013 collections called My Girl and I love the summery colours.  I think I must have experimented with every sheet of paper in this pad when making this card so now my lovely new pad is a pile of scraps lol.  I've matted everything onto red cardstock to give a good contrast and gone around the edges with faux stitching.  I've also faux stitched all the red bits on the card with white gel pen because I just can't help myself really and a card isn't complete to me unless I've done this !

My flower is made from Die-namics Pretty Posies and I've layered it up with foam pads for extra dimension.

I started out using this week's Mojo Monday sketch for my card and it ended up looking completely different by the time I was finished and not resembling the sketch at all !

Hope you all have a fab Wednesday.

Crafty Boots - Sending Sweet Thoughts

Monday 18 March 2013
Hey there everyone, I can't believe it's Monday again already and I don't know what the weather is like with you but it looks like night time here and it's only 10.45 !

How about a little bit of eye candy to brighten up your day .......

This is my card this month for Crafty Boots and I was over the moon when Stephanie-Emma said she was going to stock the gorgeous Sylvia Zet stamps as they are so beautiful to colour.

I have chosen to use Suzi with Bunny as it reminds me of Megs and her 'Ra Ra' bunny.  I have coloured her with Copics and I can literally spend hours colouring these images, they are so detailed and stamp beautifully.

The papers are from my stash and I've had them for that long I can't even remember whose they are but I love the colours in them and I matted them onto brown cardstock to tie in with the theme.  I added some hot pink ribbon and a yellow die cut flower to embellish.

Why not pop over to Crafty Boots and see the gorgeous range of stamps on offer.  I had never used Saturated Canary or Some Odd Girl stamps before I joined the DT but I am a true convert now :-)

Have a great day

Dilly Beans Friday Challenge - Friendship

Friday 15 March 2013
Hi there everyone, it's time for a new challenge over at Dilly Beans and our challenge for this week is 'Friendship'

I fancied a change from making a card this week and I've had a couple of these little boxes hidden away in my craft cupboard for a while so I thought it would be nice to make something using one of them.

It's a really cute size wooden box at 4.5" x 4.5" with a hinged lid so it would be gorgeous for little trinkets and bits of jewellery.

The papers are from the Blank Canvas pad by First Edition and I just LOVE the colours in these papers...really really pretty.  I decided to mat everything onto chocolate chip cardstock as a good contrast.

The stamp is called Hello Friend Framed and is from my favourite Amalia collection of stamps.  I just love how they colour.  She has of course been coloured with Copics to match my colour scheme.

It was difficult to get a good piccie of the box....

I've attached panels of paper around the edges of the box and decorated with brown grosgrain ribbon and wooden buttons....

and here is a picture of the coloured image in all it's glory...

So what are you waiting for....pop over to the blog and show us your creations and check out the awesome work by the rest of the Design Team.

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Sending Love and Hugs - My Mums Craft Shop

Wednesday 13 March 2013
Morning everyone

It's time for my next creation for My Mums Craft Shop and this week we have a themed week, which is MFT (or My Favourite Things to those of you unfamiliar !).  They make some of my favourite Die-namics Dies and there is also a fab range of stamps too.

For my card this week I have used the gorgeous Doodle Garden Sweet Friend and as well as colouring her with Copics I've done some paper piecing on her dress and headband too.

With all the snow we have been having I thought it would be nice to use some zingy, citrusy colours and these papers are from a Doodlebug pad I have in my stash.  Everything has been matted onto hot pink and I've used that as an accent colour for my embellishments.

This is my first attempt at tying a ribbon bow on my cards...I'm not sure if I like it and maybe need a bit more practice lol !!!

The sentiment also comes from the stamp set and the flower on the side is from the Die-namics Layered Rose die set.  The flowers look amazing when they are stacked up but I didn't want to overpower the card so I've just used the smallest flower and attached with foam pads for a bit of extra definition.

Be sure to pop by tomorrow and take a look at what the rest of the DT girls have been up to:-)

Have a great day

The Paper Shelter - Cirque

Monday 11 March 2013
Hi everyone, well I can't believe all this blooming snow again :-(  It took me ages to get to work today, traffic was just at a standstill....is it really March lol !

I'm just popping by today to show you a card I have to admit to being really really pleased with.  I've only recently discovered the beautiful images over at The Paper Shelter and this one really stood out to me as something a little different to what I normally go for.

This is Cirque and I knew as soon as I saw her which papers I wanted to use and that I wanted to colour her hair pink !!!

The Carta Bella Paris Girl papers were perfect for what I wanted to do so I've used these and coloured my image with Copics.

I've also recently discovered the delights of resin flowers and I got this little beauty from The Ribbon Reel, as well as a variety in other colours as a girl can't have too many resin flowers lol!

As always, lots of layering and faux stitching and I'm really proud of her :-)

Have a great day everyone

Dilly Beans Friday Challenge - Green

Friday 8 March 2013
Hey everyone it's Friday again yay !  and that means it's time for this week's challenge over at Dilly Beans

This week our theme is 'green' and I have to admit to being a little horrified about this as green is NOT a colour I use a lot of but one thing I love about being on a Design Team is that it challenges you to come out of your comfort zone and try something new.

For this challenge I chose to use one of my favourite images and it is the one that first drew me to Dilly Beans and she is called Amalia's Balloon Framed and I can tell you she is an absolute joy to colour.  She is coloured with Copics as always

I've used fairly plain background papers to let the image speak for itself (I think they are some old Stampin' Up! papers I had in my stash) and then used a huge flower button as my only real embellishment.

Well it's Mother's Day on Sunday and I've already had a lovely card from Megs with her very own quilling on it....she is definitely a creative star in the making !

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend whatever you are doing.

Pretty in Pink - My Mums Craft Shop

Wednesday 6 March 2013
Morning everyone

This is my first weekly post as March Guest Designer for My Mum's Craft Shop .

This week is a free choice week so I knew I wanted to use these new Annabelle's Garden Printed Panels from Wild Rose Studio.  The colours are so soft and feminine but the great thing about these panels is that you also get some black and white ones that you can colour yourself if you want to try another colour combo.

The papers are Tilda Flowergarden and I thought they matched the panels perfectly with that hint of turquoise to break up the pink.

All my panels were faux stitched around the edges and matted onto pink cardstock.  I've also added a pop of colour with some bright pink satin ribbon and a doily.

My button embellishments were created using the fantastically gorgeous can't live without Die-namics Button Border Die which is actually two dies, one is a complete border and the other creates individual buttons like I've used here.  I've die cut them out of the Tilda paper to match and then threaded the centres with some bakers twine.

I'm going to recreate a card similar to this for my mum as I know she will just love this.

Have a great day everyone :-)

Quick Pink Petticoat Makes

Tuesday 5 March 2013
Morning everyone

Just popping in to show you some quick cards I've made using the absolutely stunning Marshmallow Paper Pack from Pink Petticoat.

I have to admit to buying everything Liz puts in the boutique as soon as it comes in because her work is just so gorgeous and over the years have amassed a fair amount of stuff!

This paper pack was no exception and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to have it.  The colours are right up my street and the patterns are beautiful.  So here goes :-

A quick Mother's Day card using some pink lace and Die-namics Pretty Posies for the flower....

Not a great picture for this I'm afraid :-(  I made the flowers by die cutting 5 scalloped circles, attaching them together with a brad and scrunching them up basically !  The sentiment is also from a set by Liz called Sweet Treat Sentiments

This is one of my favourite papers of the set.....Dandelion Clocks...gorgeous !

and last but not least.....

and I will definitely be making many more....

Have a great day everyone

Dilly Beans Friday Challenge - Stripes

Friday 1 March 2013
Hey everyone, this is my second post today, (not that anybody actually reads this blog lol !!!).  My first DT card for My Mum's Craft Shop is further down :-)

It's Friday which means it's time for a new challenge over at Dilly Beans and this week the theme is 'Stripes'.

I love stripes so this challenge was right up my street.

I have used the gorgeous Amalia's Heartstring digi stamp which is available here and I've paper pieced her so that she has a matching dress and bow....in pink of course.  I'm loving pink and blue together at the moment.  I've coloured the rest of her in with Copics.

I've used a striped embossing folder on the large panel at the back as well as a Boudoir Stripe digi paper available from Pink Petticoat

The sentiment is from Paper Smooches and as always I've added some faux stitching and a button for good measure.

If you would like the chance to win 3 digi stamps of your choice just pop over to the blog and show us your creations as well as checking out what the rest of the DT girls have been up to.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend :-)

My Mum's Craft Shop Challenge - Spring Has Sprung

Good Morning !

Today I am really excited as my month of being Guest Designer for My Mums Craft Shop begins today.

My first creation is for the new challenge which is up on the blog today and the theme is 'Spring Has Sprung', which is quite appropriate considering the sunny days that have started making an appearance lately.

When I think of making spring cards I always think pink, yellow, blue etc and I have used papers from the Echo Park Springtime collection which fitted what I had in mind perfectly.

I used some dotty embossed card as my background base for the card and matted it onto pink cardstock.

I then cut two strips of patterned paper, one slightly smaller than the other and matted them onto pink cardstock.  I've then cut a smaller strip of yellow cardstock and embossed this with a Couture Creations Bouquet embossing folder. I've randomly stuck them down at angles on my card and also attached a strip of pink cardstock 'ribbon' with a button as a focal point.

Over that I attached another square of pink patterned paper and embossed a large circle from white cardstock with of course some faux stitching around the edges.

Onto some of the scraps of patterned paper I have stamped flowers from the Paper Smooches Friendly Flowers clear stamp set, which is available  here then cut them out and stuck them to my circle.  I've coloured in some of the centres with copics and added some buttons to make them pop.

I stamped the sentiment from the set onto white cardstock and coloured it in with Copics to match the theme of my card.

So if you fancy winning yourself a £20.00 voucher for My Mums Craft Shop why not pop over to the blog and join us, we love to see your creations and you can also check out what the rest of the DT girls have created.

Good luck everyone :-)

Pink and Red at Dilly Beans

Friday 22 February 2013
Hey there everyone and happy Friday:-)  I'm absolutely shattered tonight after a great day of retail therapy with my mother in law and Megan and looking forward to a rare weekend with hubby this weekend as he isn't working for once !

As it's Friday that means its challenge time again over at Dilly Beans and this week we want to see your Pink and Red creations.

I love this theme, you can never go wrong with a bit of pink lol !

There have just been some absolutely gorgeous new digis released in the shop and I knew as soon as I saw this one I had to use it.  It's is the 'Framed Flowers Set' and it's available here

I printed my stamp out onto Neenah cardstock and coloured with Copics.  I then cut each panel out and backed it onto hot pink cardstock.

It was then that I realised I had actually printed the stamp too big to fit onto my usual 6 x 6 card and had to move up to an 8 x 8 meaning I had a whole lot more space to fill lol !!

I embossed a 6 x 6 piece of white card with the Bouquet folder from Couture Creations and stuck my panels onto it using sticky pads to give it a bit of depth.

I then embossed a large piece of hot pink cardstock with the same folder and layered a piece of cardstock from my Echo Park Yours Truly 6 x 6 pad as a background for my main stamped panel.

A bit of ribbon and button later plus a sentiment from Paper Smooches and there you go !

I'm not sure I'm entirely happy with the finished result if I'm honest, I absolutely LOVE the image but I don't think I've done it justice with the layout.

If you would like to join us this week please do pop over to the blog where you can also see the creations from the other talented DT girls.

Have a fabulous weekend :-)

Bright and Cheerful

Monday 18 February 2013
Hi everyone, isn't it lovely to see the sun shining !

Some of you who know me know that I suffer from bouts of depression and things have been a bit crap lately and I've tried my hardest to keep positive.  Megs has gone to stay at grandma's tonight so I've been here on my own and I knew when I got up it was going to be a 'black cloud' kinda day.  So I gave in and took to my bed :-(  Then I thought no I am not going to let this beat me, the sun is shining, I've got the day to myself I am not going to give in to you today so up I got!

I started this card yesterday so I got up and finished it off and it's lovely sunshiney colours can't fail to cheer you up can they.

I've had this digi coloured for a while, she is from The Greeting Farm and I think she is called Camille.  I cut her out and dug out one of my favourite paper pads from Doodlebug....Sugar and Spice and it is available here from The Glitter Pot.

I had absolutely no vision as to how I wanted this card to look apart from I wanted it to feature pink and yellow as that is how I had coloured her dress.  Basically there is no science to it, this time I started cutting out on the sheets in a circle then went from there adding bits on and taking bits off until I was happy.

She has really cheered me up and now I am off out for a walk in the sunshine then I'm going to work on my Dilly Beans DT card for this week which I'm really looking forward to.

Hope you all have a wonderful day

Dilly Beans Black and Red Challenge

Friday 15 February 2013
Hi everyone, it's Friday again and time for a new challenge over at Dilly Beans and this week we want to see you creating in black and red.

I really enjoyed this challenge and decided that I was going to do some black and white colouring of my image to match in with this card.

The image is called Pinky's Skull Bow and she is available here

As always I went for the whole matted and layered look and although you can't really tell from the picture I distressed all the edges of the papers before matting and then added faux stitching with gel pens.

The papers are from Echo Park Your's Truly and the sentiment is from a Paper Smooches set.

Why not pop over to the blog and see what the other DT girls have been up to and it would be great if you could join in with the challenge, we love to see your beautiful creations.

Just a quick post from me tonight as it's time for tea !!

Have a great weekend

Crafty Boots DT Card

Thursday 14 February 2013
Hi everyone and happy Valentines Day!  I'm told the sun is going to shine today but I am at the moment looking out of my office window into a murky grey fogginess so I'm not sure whether to believe that or not.

It's time for my Crafty Boots Design Team card and this month I chose to use a Saturated Canary stamp for the first time ever.  I've got to be honest and say I've never really been a fan but now I have used one I am converted and have gone on to buy several more digi stamps from them which I haven't had chance to use yet.

This little beauty is called Nevaeh and she is available to buy here from Crafty Boots.

I've coloured her with Copics and steered away from pink this time as I just felt when I inked her up that I wanted her dress to be orange.....god knows why !!!  So I've used this SEI paper pad which was sat in the cupboard gathering dust as I knew it was going to work perfectly.

I did find her hair a bit of a challenge and had printed a few images off to practice before I was eventually happy with her, although she still isn't in the league of some of the die hard Saturated Canary fans I've seen around the internet and on Pinterest but I'm happy with my effort so far.

If you have the internet, tune in to Create and Craft tonight at 7.00 pm where one of my fellow Crafty Boots design team friends, Tracie Gledhill, will be on demonstrating new pens and more Saturated Canary.

Anyway I had best be off, as usual I am supposed to be at work!

Have a great day

New By Lori Designs Challenge DT Member

Monday 11 February 2013
Hey everyone, have you got any snow?  I must admit I was quite disappointed to wake up this morning and not see a flake !

I can officially say that I am really excited to be re-joining the Challenge DT over at the fantastic By Lori Designs yay !!!!!  I've always been a huge fan of Lori's digi stamps and I used to be on the DT many moons ago so it's fantastic to be back and I can't wait to work with the girls again and showcase these fab designs.

Here is a quick card I made last year using one of the digistamps available in the store.  Its very clean and simple for me isn't it :-)

The kraft background papers were from Craftwork Cards and as usual I coloured my image using Copics and added a bit of glitter for extra prettiness.

Anyway I had best be off, I'm at work and shouldn't be secretly blogging but I couldn't wait to share my news :-)

Have a great day

Dilly Beans Friday Challenge - 'Hearts'

Friday 8 February 2013
Hey everyone, I can't believe it's Friday again and time for a new challenge over at Dilly Beans Stamps and this week we want to see your 'Hearts'.

Very appropriate with Valentines just around the corner and lots of lurve in the air!  Rich and I have been married for nearly six years now and already we don't really bother with Valentine's Day much at all.  Not that we aren't romantic but even as a cardmaker I think the whole thing is just so expensive and commercialised.  I would rather he randomly turned up home from work one day with a bouquet unexpectedly.....mmmmm cos that happens a lot..not !

Anyway onto the card.  This week I have used the gorgeous 'Amalia's Hearts Framed' stamp and she is available here

I kind of wish I hadn't tried to do her hair as I admit I did struggle with getting it to look authentic and it took me ages of messing about with paper until I was happy with this card.  In the end I used a mixture of papers from different collections, matted onto brown card so it matched her hair.

Pop over to the blog to see what the rest of the talented DT girls have created and we would love it if you played along with us.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend

Detailed versus Clean and Simple

Thursday 7 February 2013
Hi everyone, I've had a crap week illness wise, I got tonsilitis at the weekend and spent my birthday in bed on Sunday:-)  I am getting there now though and starting to feel like picking up my copics again and getting crafty.

As you can see my style of card is always kind of overloaded with lots of matting, layering and little extra details and I have two cards to show you today which show you how I struggle with the CAS style!  I would love to be able to create quick cards in ten minutes but the minute I get the papers in my hands I just want to add more and more, sometimes to the point of aaaargh too much !

The first card uses one of my very favourite images from Tickled Pink Stamps.  She is a digi called Cherry (I think she is designed by the same lady who does the CC designs stamps) and I have used quite masculine papers with her for a change instead of my usual pink, pink and more pink.  The papers are Basic Grey Marjolaine and although I'm not normally a lover of their papers I do like these.

As you can see, lots of little details.....

and the second card....well this is as CAS as I get really.....still with the layers but not so much detail and a lot more white.

Anyway that's all from me today, pop back tomorrow for this week's Dilly Beans Stamps Challenge card.

Have a great day

Shelly xx
